ExxonMobil Launches Mobil Pegasus™ 605 Ultra 40
ExxonMobil has launched Mobil Pegasus™ 605 Ultra gas engine oil to help optimise the performance of engines running on biomass and landfill gas. The product, showcased for the first time at Power-Gen Europe, has been formulated in response to the growing trend of companies and organisations generating power from biomass and landfill gas.
Mobil Pegasus 605 Ultra is formulated to offer very good anti-wear and anti-scuff performance and carbon and varnish deposit control to help overcome the challenges of operating engines on biomass and landfill gas. Contaminants in these gases such as halides, sulphides and siloxanes can accelerate wear and compromise engine durability.
During extensive field tests Mobil Pegasus 605 Ultra demonstrated its ability to significantly extend oil drain intervals in engines versus conventional gas engine oils. During 18,000+ test hours in on customer’s engine for example, Mobil Pegasus 605 Ultra was shown to double oil drain intervals , while also reducing scuffing and improving engine cleanliness.
Mobil Pegasus 605 Ultra is the newest addition to the Mobil Pegasus brand – which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary. For more than half a century products from the portfolio, such as Mobil Pegasus 605 Ultra and Mobil Pegasus 1005, have been at the forefront of technological innovation, helping operators improve power plant output and extend engine durability. Working closely with OEMs, ExxonMobil’s Mobil Pegasus products are approved for use in Jenbacher, Waukesha, MAN, MTU, MWM (CAT), Wartsila and Cummings gas engines.
