How to Check Your Engine Oil: Step by Step
You rarely think about your engine oil — yet it protects your engine every single day. An oil check takes just a few minutes and saves you time and money in the long run. Especially worth doing before a long journey!

Step-by-step guide
Park on a level surface and wait ten minutes so the engine cools and the oil settles.
Open the bonnet and secure it properly.
Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a cloth.
Push the dipstick back in, pull it straight out again and read the level.
The oil should sit close to the upper mark. Near (or below) the lower mark? Time to top up.
Slowly add the correct Mobil oil using a funnel, checking the level as you go.
Replace the dipstick and close the bonnet.

Tip
Always keep a one-litre bottle of the right Mobil oil in your boot, along with an old cloth and a funnel — you’ll be ready for anything. Questions about the right oil? Get in touch with us. Source: mobil.co.uk
