Some partnerships are built for a season. Others are built to last. In 2026, Porsche and Mobil 1 celebrate 30 years of working side by side — one of the longest-running and most successful technical collaborations in the automotive world.
Factory fill since 1996
The story goes back to 1996, when Porsche selected Mobil 1 as its factory-fill engine oil. Since then, every Porsche engine has left the production line protected by Mobil 1 lubricant technology — more than four million vehicles and counting. That means the very first kilometres of every 911, Cayenne or Macan are driven on the same oil technology that is pushed to its limits on race circuits around the globe.
Proven on the track
Motorsport has always been the ultimate proving ground for this partnership. Today, Mobil 1 is the Official Cooperation Partner of Porsche Motorsport, title sponsor of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup — the prestigious one-make series that supports the Formula 1 calendar — and Gold Sponsor of Porsche Carrera Cup championships worldwide. In endurance racing, Mobil 1 supports Porsche Penske Motorsport in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, where the Porsche 963 competes at legendary events such as the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
From racing to the road
What makes this collaboration unique is how directly track experience feeds into road car development. Lubricant technology validated under extreme racing conditions has supported the engineering of five generations of the Porsche 911, as well as icons like the Carrera GT, the 918 Spyder hybrid hypercar, the 718 models and the Cayenne, Panamera and Macan ranges. Extreme heat, high revs and relentless load cycles on the circuit translate into protection, efficiency and durability for everyday drivers.
